Jessica is running for Lewis County Coroner with a clear mission: to bring compassionate professional service with a focus on prevention to the office. She understands that behind every case is a family, a story, and a community impacted by loss.
My mission for strengthening investigative practices is simple: every case, every time, is handled with absolute accuracy. The office must work diligently while utilizing the appropriate resources to ensure investigations are complete, professional, and accurate. I will protect our community by focusing on: Protecting National Standards: Keeping our office independently accredited so our local findings stand up in court against any big-city lawyers. Ensure nationwide standards of practice are utilized. Mandatory Staff Certification: Requiring every investigator to be certified by the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators and the Washington State Criminal Justice Commission as Forensic Investigator. We need trained professionals on the scene, not political appointees. Lewis County families deserve immediate closure and honest answers. I ask for your vote to bring common-sense accountability, transparency, and compassionate precision to the coroner’s office.
I believe that a coroner’s office can only be as strong as its relationships with the people who protect our communities every single day. My highest priority is to bridge the gap between our office, local law enforcement, and first responders to ensure every death investigation is handled with absolute accuracy, speed, and integrity. To bring true accountability and transparency to Lewis County, my administration will focus on: Strengthening First Responder Partnerships: I will actively rebuild trust and collaboration with our local police, sheriff’s deputies, fire districts, and EMS crews. By modernizing our on-scene communication and working as a unified team, we will protect vital evidence and ensure faster, more efficient investigations. Elevating Public Transparency: A coroner’s office should never operate behind closed doors. I am committed to opening clear lines of communication with the public, explaining our processes honestly, and ensuring that our rural communities receive the transparent answers they deserve during tough times. Honoring Families with Faster Closure: When tragedy strikes, poor communication between agencies shouldn't delay a family’s path to closure. By streamlining how we share information with first responders and the public, we can fast-track accurate death certificates, help families secure insurance relief, and provide the certainty they need to heal. We cannot have a safe, accountable county if our public safety agencies operate in silos. I ask for your vote to bring a new era of teamwork, open communication, and compassionate transparency to the Lewis County Coroner’s Office.

Align with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, local police departments, fire districts, and emergency medical services (EMS) crews to create a rapid-sharing data pipeline to ensure that services and outreach are provided in high-need areas. Co-Launch high school and youth awareness programs to present real-world, data-driven educational campaigns directly to students regarding the realities of the opioid crisis, distracted driving, other risky behaviors, and suicide. Expand senior safety and fall Prevention initiatives by partnering with local senior centers, assisted living facilities, and area agencies on aging to promote community outreach, such as installing home grab-bars or providing mobility checks to protect vulnerable rural seniors.
